Watching Movies ...
... from way back when we went to a double feature at 7:00, regardless of the scheduled starting time, and left when it finally came around to the exact place we came in on, although if it was a really great picture we just might stay all the way through to the end again.
In the intervening decades, I've seen many more pictures I liked than pictures I didn't like; I just plain love movies that much. Still, there were some I considered special over and above the rest. Trouble is, I can't remember them all. However, there are enough that do come to mind (with the aid of the Imdb and home videos and DVD's) that I have been able to gather together a list of some I consider real classics. As more come to mind I'll add them to my list.

I've also begun writing reviews of some of my favorites - this because professional reviewers have often been, well, wrong in their assessments of what I think are good movies.I have the luxury of being able to take my time, which the pro's don't, what with deadlines and editors standing over their shoulders and all. I've been especially impressed by the work of young actors in recent years. Mischa Barton, Jena Malone, Natalie Portman, Judith Vittet, and Evan Rachel Wood have led the way in taking the traditional cinema concept of children out of the age of stereotype. You can find that page at the link below.
